ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Missouri Valley Conference announced their 2009 Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference and 2009 Scholar-Athlete award winners today. Eight athletes received All-MVC honors and 10 Bears were named to the Scholar-Athlete team.

St. Louis Family Fitness Weekend, the crowds did not as more than twelve thousand braved rainy conditions to participate in the weekend’s races. The rain was not the only thing falling on April 19th; however as three course records came down as well. Despite the races’ wet conditions spectators were still treated to the top two finishers in the men’s half marathon going under the previous mark of 1:08.20 set in 2008 by Matthew Chesang and both the men’s and women’s marathon winners crafting new records for their respective divisions.

Celebrity 100-meter dash and sub-four-minute-mile attempt will cap off the night

SAINT LOUIS – Never are tragic accidents more shocking than when they happen to young athletes in peak physical condition. Two such athletes, Brigette Schutzman and Mike Rathmann, will be honored at Saint Louis University High School on May 23rd at a benefit track meet that will feature two hours of crowd-pleasing races, including the Fox Architects Celebrity 100 meter dash and the St. Louis Track Club Men’s Elite Mile.

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Kansas City affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will participate, as an official charity, in the 36th Annual Hospital Hill Run to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and patient support. The event will take place on June 6, 2009 in Downtown Kansas City, starting at the Crown Center Shops on Grand Blvd, at 7:00am.

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Missouri State track and field team sent a select group of athletes to Arizona State University for the 30th Sun Angel Track Classic today. Terry Phillips set the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while the Bears 4x100-meter relay team was victorious.
