SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today announced its 2008 All-Academic teams. Missouri State, on the strength of a 3.548 average GPA, were among the teams honored.

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The Missouri Valley Conference wrapped up its Indoor Track and Field Championships today in Iowa. After a valiant effort, Missouri State finished third out of eight quads with 111 points. Southern Illinois won the women’s team championship with 154 points, followed by Wichita State at 143 points.

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships began today on the campus of Northern Iowa. Missouri State athletes broke a conference meet record and advanced nine to tomorrow’s finals. The Bears sit in fourth place with 26 points after five scored events on the first day.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Former Missouri State men's track athlete Blake Boldon will compete at the USA National Indoor Track and Field Championships this upcoming weekend. Boldon, who graduated from Missouri State in 2003, will compete in the men's 3,000-meter run at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center in Boston, Mass., February 28 through March 1, 2009.

On Nov. 2 the St. Louis Track Club joined the Clayton Police/Special Olympics for the second year to host the combined St. Louis Half Marathon and Clayton Police/Special Olympics Missouri 5K Run/Walks that benefits the Special Olympics of Missouri.

January-March 2009 Off the Wire … San Diego—Jordan Hasay of Arroyo Grande, CA and Solomon Haile of Silver Spring, MD won the 2008 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals, Dec. 13, at Morley Field, Balboa Park in San Diego. The runners competed under cloudy conditions with a slight drizzle and a temperature of 59º.

June 6, 2009 marks the 36th running of the Hospital Hill Run, the oldest road race in Kansas City and the second oldest half marathon in the country.

First held in 1974 with a field of 99 runners, Hospital Hill Run grew in size and stature in the ensuing years. Recently it was named one of the top races in the country by Runner’s World magazine.
